Community Hall Rental and Reservation Guidelines

General Purpose Hall at the Islamic Association of Greater Hartford (IAGH)

Public events will be announced to all members via email and will be posted on our website for all to attend. The General-Purpose Hall including classrooms and kitchen are available for use at a nominal usage fee and subject to the rules and regulations provided below:

Dua and Quran Khani with food served $300*
Dua and Quran Khani with NO food None*
Security deposit for all functions $200*
  • – Fee is subject to change. Please contact Facilities Committee for the latest fee.

Important Notes:

  1. The request form must be accompanied by full fee. The check may be made payable to the “Islamic Association of Greater Hartford”.
  2. Your reservation is not guaranteed unless you pay the full amount and the required security deposit at least 5 days before the event.
  3. Remove your shoes at the entrance of the Mosque.   Shelves are available at the entrance to hold shoes.
  4. No Food or beverages are allowed in the prayer hall.
  5. No one should be in the prayer hall except for praying.

RESERVATION POLICY

  1. All requests/reservations for use of IAGH facilities must be made in advance and subject to approval by the IAGH Board.
  2. The person responsible for reserving the hall (i.e., the person filling out the reservation form) must maintain and ensure an orderly activity during the time that the facilities are being used. This responsibility includes the usage for the interior rooms, the community center grounds and the parking lot. The responsible person must designate and report to the building director, the name of the alternate person, who will be onsite at the conclusion of the event, to ensure that the facility is properly cleaned.
  3. The use of the kitchen is included in the hall reservation. The stove is to be used for warming food only, and not for cooking purposes. The use of the kitchen does not include small appliances or dishes. Food, drinks and other leftovers must be removed from the kitchen/hall at the end of the event.
  4. No sub-leasing of the hall is allowed. Adequate adult supervision is required for all youth and teen activities
  5. Any practice conflicting with the spirit and teachings of the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), is prohibited without exception. Playing musical instruments, singing, dancing, and consuming alcoholic beverages within the boundaries of Islamic Center of Greater Hartford premises is not acceptable and such activities may lead to immediate expulsion from the premises
  6. Your security deposit may be forfeited in part or in full for the following reservation agreement violations:
  7. a) If the party stays beyond the ending time stated on the facility permit application,
    b) If there is any structural damage to the facility and/or equipment, and
    c) If the kitchen is left untidy/dirty and food and trash are not removed from the premises.
  8. IAGH will not be responsible for any lost or stolen items/articles. The IAGH is also not responsible for any personal or property damage occurring to the party involved while attending a function at the ISD premises.

The Following Rules Must be Observed

  1. Children should be restricted to the social areas only.
  2. Children under 14 years old are not allowed in the kitchen
  3. Turn on only those lights which are necessary for the function.
  4. Switch off all lights, including the ones in the bathrooms, at the end of the function
  5. Use your own trash bags. The trash barrels provided by the center fit 35-gallon bags or larger.
  6. All trash must be disposed of in the barrels located on the north side the building.
  7. Bring your own table covers, serving dishes and utensils
  8. All individual dishes, cutlery and cups must be disposable, such as paper or plastic, in order to minimize dishwashing on site
  9. No furniture or furnishings may be removed from the building premises for any reason.
  10. After use, the facilities must be returned to their original clean conditions. Use vacuum cleaner and air freshener, if necessary.
  11. All furniture (tables, chairs, rugs etc.) must be returned to their original locations.
  12. Check and secure all other doors and windows and leave from the side door locking it behind you.
  13. Do not leave any food inside the building or in the refrigerator.
  14. Solicitation, sales and distribution of any material is not permitted without prior permission.
