Academic Coordinator (FIRST TIME): We are delighted to introduce Sister Shanza Hussain as the Sunday School Academic Coordinator. Mrs. Hussain is a proud graduate of our Sunday School. She holds a Master’s degree in Instruction and Curriculum from the University of Connecticut and currently teaches in the public school system. After graduating, she taught various grades in Sunday School and have been involved in the many initiatives the Mosque has undertaken and continues to pursue. As the Academic Coordinator, her goal is to support teachers in numerous ways, including revising lesson plans, managing classroom behaviors, and creating an engaging learning environment for students. Additionally, she plans to hold teachers’ workshops on various topics to enhance teaching strategies. She envisions Sunday School as a place where young Muslims eagerly come every Sunday to connect with friends, enjoy engaging activities, and deepen their understanding of their faith. Her aim is to foster a welcoming and safe space where young Muslims feel excited about learning not only about their religion but also about their own Muslim identity. We pray that we can raise righteous Muslims who will embody the generation our Prophet (SAW) aspired for.
Registration Guidelines for 2024/25 academic year:
- All Sunday School Classes will be held in person at the Berlin Masjid InshaAllah starting September 8, 2024. Sunday School administration and the education committee made that decision after careful evaluation.
- Students registering for Pre-K class must be 4 years old at the start of the academic year in September 2024.
Sunday School is committed to the safety of our students, teachers, staff and the community.
We plan to take all necessary precautions to ensure the physical safety of your children and their health.
Mission Statement
As members of the IAGH community, our mission is to foster an academic curriculum geared towards supporting students in developing their identities as American Muslims and contributing members of society.
About us
The school offers classes from Preschool thru Grade 12 on Sundays from 10:30-1:15. The school day is divided into two classes-Quranic Arabic and Islamic Studies. Students are taught to read and write in Arabic through a comprehensive Quranic Curriculum and are expected to read, understand and memorize the surahs. The Islamic Studies Curriculum is aligned with students grade and reading level, and students are expected to reflect on the teachings/principles of Islam and how they relate to their lives. Students are also encouraged to participate in school competitions such as the Calligraphy competition as well as the Islamic Quiz competition.
