More March Activities and Speakers at Islamic Association of Greater Hartford

2. Friday March 21st Lecture after Maghrib at Berlin masjid with Sheikh Anas Thowfeeq
3. Friday Jumma Khotba – March 28th Imam Yusha Evans – inspirational youth speaker
4. Every Saturday lecture after Esha with Sheikh Sami Shamma
5. Friday March 28th 5:30pm to 8:30pm – Youth (8yrs to 20yrs) evening with Kaiser Aslam – Sister and brother programs
6. Sunday March 30th 2pm to 4:30pm Career Day for High School and College student with CT Muslim Professionals.
These programs are for YOU! Please join us and make this a success! Take advantage of the amazing knowledge and don’t forget the ICNA NE convention on the weekend of the 22nd and 23rd at the CT Convention Center – “Muhammad a Mercy to Mankind”

Career Day for High School & College Students – Sunday 3/30 2-4:30pm at IAGH

CT Muslim professionals is hosting Career Day at IAGH on March 30th after Sunday school from 2pm to 4:30pm.

Includes: Skills on resume writing (for high school and college students) and advice regarding diverse career paths
Venue: Conference Hall – Islamic Association of Greater Hartford

Sunday School Registration Starts March 16 – Last Names A & B

Registration for Year 2014-2015

Dear Parents, Assalamu Alaikum,
I hope you and your families are doing well. This is to inform you that we are starting registration for the next academic year 2014-2015, on March 16th from 11:00 am till 12:30 pm. The registration schedule is shown below. Please follow the schedule based on the last name of the family. There are two weeks assigned to each group of alphabets (last name), so make sure you register within specified dates for your family’s last names.
If you cannot register within the specified dates for a valid reason, please contact the school administration.Please note that this year you will only pay for the tuition fee at registration time as follows:Note: If you have any outstanding balance, you will be required to pay that first before registering for next year and you will be making two separate payments in that case.

Movie night – Saturday February 8, 2014 5:30pm to 7:30pm

THE STORY: In Karachi, Pakistan, a runaway boy’s life hangs on one critical question: where is home? The streets, an orphanage, or with the family he fled in the first place? Simultaneously heart- wrenching and life-affirming, THESE BIRDS WALK documents the struggles of these wayward street children and the Samaritans looking out for them in an ethereal and inspirational story of resilience.

January Activities at Berlin Mosque

Assalaam Alaikum Brothers and Sisters
 
Here are the activities planned for January 2014:
 
  • Friday January 10th-Ustadh Wisam Sharieff at Berlin masjid for Jumma

  • Saturday January 11th  – Community dinner and movie night 6pm to 7:30pm “Inside Islam – What a billion Muslims think” Dinner at 6pm $10 donation
  • Saturday January 18th Masjid Cleanup Day – 10am to 4pm – If you like to volunteer for cleaning the house of Allah – please email annminor3@gmail .com
  • Daily – Masjid is open from Maghrib to Esha – Esha Salat is at 7:30pm
  • Mondays and Thursdays – Qur’an class from 6pm to 7:30pm – $20 a month. Levels are from kindergarten to high school.
  • Every Friday 6:30pm to 7:30pm – Women’s Tajweed classes start January 24th
  • Every Friday 6:30pm to 7:30pm – Men’s Tajweed classes – start January 10th
  • Every Friday 7:30pm after Esha – Khatira with Imam Refai
  • Every Saturday 11am to 1pm – Arabic class with Imam Refai and Sheikh Sami Shamma – New registration starting this month – $100 a semester – till June 2014
We will also be collecting Towels for the Towel Drive in support of National Service Day until January 20th 2014. Please donate new bath towels – we have a collection box at the masjid – the towels will be distributed to area shelters on January 20th and 21st.

Sunday School Cancelled 12/15/2013 due to weather

Sunday school is cancelled this Sunday 12/15/13,  and No School on 12/22/2013 & 12/29/2013

Dear Parents, Assalamu alaikum,
I hope you and your families are doing well. This is to inform you that Sunday school is cancelled this Sunday 12/15/13 due to the inclement weather.  Please also note that as we are into our winter break after that, there will be no Sunday school on the next two Sundays 12/22 and 12/29/13. I hope you all have a good winter break. Sunday school will resume on January 5th 2013, inshAllah.

Please be safe and do not go out unless it is necessary.

Arabic Classes and Community Dinner and Movie Night for Saturday the 14th CANCELLED

Due to winter storm Ashford – predicted to bring heavy snow and freezing rain on Saturday afternoon to evening we will be cancelling this months community dinner and movie night scheduled for Saturday the 14th.
Please also visit the masjid website – berlinmosque.org on Saturday evening to see whether Sunday school will be cancelled. Please check the website on Sunday morning prior to bringing your children to Sunday school. If the weather is not good in your area please stay at home – your health and wellbeing is a priority.

Mosque Open House – 12/7/2013

Date: Saturday December 7th from 6pm to 8pm
Venue: Islamic Association of Greater Hartford – Conference Hall, 1781 Berlin Turnpike, Berlin, CT
Short presentation on Islam followed by Q and A with Middle Eastern food
End with witnessing a congregational prayer.
